We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.
My interest in dentistry began my senior year of high school when I enrolled in the health assistant course at Franklin County Vo-Tech. The program focused on nursing, dental assisting, and working in a medical office. Of the three, dental assisting was the most interesting to me and my three week training in a dental office turned into a full time job after graduation. While working there, a dental hygienist was hired and I shadowed her, learning all about dental hygiene as she mentored me. I was a dental assistant for six years before I enrolled in hygiene school. I joined Chambersburg Family dentistry after graduating in 1981 working for Dr Cerveris, and I have worked for him ever since.
I have met many wonderful people at the office. I feel that educating my patients about the importance of dental health and how it relates to their overall health is one of the most important aspects of my job here. It’s important to help people relax during their dental visit by talking about what to expect as well as showing and telling them how to best take care of their dental needs.
Away from the office you may find me spending time with my husband, Daryl, and our dog, Tucker. We have three sons, John, Paul, and Luke. John is the eldest, and he and his wife Alison have blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter, Millie. I also enjoy being outdoors, reading, and baking in my free time.
My love for dentistry began when I was in high school. I had gotten braces and found that I really enjoyed going to my dental appointments. I would ask millions of questions about what they were doing and why. I knew then that’s what I wanted to do. Teeth have always been a fascination for me. Watching a patient who has lost their confidence in their smile, and being able to be a part of helping them regain that confidence, is the most amazing thing to witness. I love to help educate patients about their overall health and how it is related to oral health. To me, one of the most important aspects of dental assisting is ensuring a patient feels comfortable and safe in the office. I enjoy comforting them and giving them the best dental experience they can have. Being a dental assistant has been unbelievably rewarding and I always look forward to coming into the office and discovering new ways to make a difference in someone’s life. I attended school for dental assisting, graduated in 2007, and worked in California for eight years before moving to Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, I worked mainly with children. I would go to the hospitals every Friday and assist with dental surgeries. Eventually, I made my way to Pennsylvana, and when I met Dr Cerveris, I immediately knew this was the office for me! I have been here since August 2019 and love coming to work everyday to see what new challenge the day will bring and whose smile we will get to see for the first time in years.
I have a wonderful teenage daughter, Kayla, and my youngest Kaiia is 5 years old. We also have two dogs and three cats, making our home quite the zoo. When I am not working, I love spending time with my family, camping, lounging on the beach, or just taking a fmaily road trip with no destination in mind. A quiet evening watching a movie together is the perfect end to the day.
